Mayor's Inauguration Includes Hyphy Celebration

Jan. 11, 7 p.m., Hyphy-Soul Showcase, Sweets Ballroom
"Hyphy is homegrown hip hop with neo-soul flair. ... Featured artists include Mistah F.A.B. [and others] and Special Guests include Mayor Ronald V. Dellums." (Announcement in The Oakland Post, Dec. 20, 2006)

Mistah F.A.B. celebrates sideshow disruption in "Ghost Ride It":

Ghost ride, ghost ride
Get out the way and let Casper drive

He says his name stands for "Money Is Something To Always Have... Faeva Afta Bread." Two whole panels of the liner notes to his 2002 album Nig Latin are devoted to spelling his name out as an acronym with this meaning. He released the much anticipated Son of A Pimp album on Thizz Ent. (From his own Wikipedia entry)

Here's more on hyphy and sideshows.

A blogger reports that the event, priced at $40 per ticket, was poorly attended and, "Mistah FAB, a successful local hip-hop artist, gave a speech proclaiming his wish to be a good role model for the kids. He then launched into a song about thizzin'." Thizzing is street slang for getting high on the drug Ecstasy.
